looks good. now i really cant wait to get mine at the meet. something funny about your clears is that you actually got the ones that i was going to get. collins was saving a pair for me to install at the meet, but he forgot about me and sent them to you . no problem thought. luckily i reminded him and he got a new pair made up for me,

But I don't think he was able to ship me your set. I think he noticed a issue with them and was going to have to redo them. So he gave me the ones off of his car! At least I think this is how it went down by what he told me. Great Guy... Now I need to ship the old ones back!

Thanks, everyone! They look AWESOME on that color, I'm jealous.
Yeah I wasn't happy with how the ones came apart that I was going to send to Brian (there was a big part of the lens that broke off and I was worried about moisture) so I sent him the ones off of my car since I know those don't leak haha. I got the other ones on mine though and they're doing fine.
I'm getting yours made now, Lathan! They're already apart, I just have to put in the clear lens and glue them back together. They'll be ready by the meet!

I think I'm gonna have to jump on this bandwagon soon... The clear corners look amazing! Just getting some oil leaks and overheating under control before I work on the looks, but look for a message from me soon xjsman89.

xjsman89,
i was wondering (and let me know if I'm out of line, I'm new to this forum and how things work) is there any way you could let us/me know your process for clearing them?
please understand I don't want the knowledge for any selfish profit, I'm just curious and wouldn't mind trying this out on my own.
If not I'd understand. i've got some things need doing to Stella first, but I'm very interested in getting a set of clears. thanks!

I made mine on my last car following a post in this thread Here's the post Cool, nice write up. So did you just remove the yellow lens or did you put a white or clear lens in its place? If the latter, where did you get the replacement lens? Also, what are you going to do with your original corners? It's not really hard at all, you just gotta plan you're attack out first.

Of course! I think I mentioned on the first page that I can help if desired. This is mainly for those who don't feel up to it, if you want to tackle the mod yourself (it isn't terribly difficult. It is the first mod that I did and I love it) then by all means do it! That thread that rob pointed you to us the one that I used. I need to make a writeup, I just haven't yet haha. I'll find my posts in there, I'm sure I have posted instructions at some point. I would be glad to answer any questions you might have, just post them in there and shoot me a PM to be sure that I see it!

Okay cool, it's something I wouldn't mind trying my hand at, I've got a dremel and pretty steady hands haha! Whenever you get around to the write-up be sure to include plenty of pics! Also, what attachment are you using to grind? I just have the standard ones that came in the box.

I just use a reinforced cutoff wheel on the standard dremel, I've found that I like my dremel multimax (pictured in that thread) to cut them open with though. Since it uses metal blades they don't break. I go through a few cutoff wheels on one set b/c they break easily.
It is possible on some lenses to heat them up to 200-220 in the oven for like 15-20 minutes and they will open up nicely that way. Wireless tried it recently with his headlight and it didn't end up working for him. I have gotten one set of lenses open that way before but only once, so I just use a dremel each time. It's more fun to me anyway haha.

Yep, still have a set. Andy shipped his salvage yard lenses a couple days ago so one set is going to him, the second one is up for grabs! I should have two sets ready to go at once in the future so let me know if you want them.
I'll also mention as an alternative to the core charge if it's convenient you can grab a set of lenses from the salvage yard and send them my way, I'll just ship you a set of clears when I receive the salvage ones! The core is so that I'm able to purchase another set if needed, if I get another physical set of lenses then the core charge isn't needed.
PM me if you want a pair!

Shipped a set to Andy today. They should arrive just in time for the IL meet! I tried Randy's version of the mod on this set. My dad and I went to the yard for a few parts for one of his towing trucks and I found a damaged set of side markers from a wrecked Aurora but the clear lens was salvageable so I went for it! I took the clear lens out of that second set of lenses so that I could do one that looks completely stock (instead of the diffuser panel insert). I love the look, and will be doing it to my lenses soon as well.
