Well it finally happened, my ETCBM is fried, my ABS and TC light went on as I was driving home from my friends wedding out of town. Luckily no issues until I turned off the car, had the dash lights go off, then reversed, put the car in gear and wwrrrrtttt, vrrrrr...csskkk...wrrrrr
$1100 bones, meh it was on borrowed time anyway, last time this happened they managed to reseat the wiring into the module, I guess it came loose again. Either way, the car is undriveable until this gets fixed
Basically, the way it was explained to me before is the ETCBM is not reading the data from the wheel speed sensor correctly. Both wheels turn at the same rate, however the module is reading one piece of data on the left and interpreting it, then the other wheel speed sensor is sending similar data, but the module is not correctly deciphering the data.
Therefore, the car engages TC thinking the wheels are spinning at different speeds. Now this works whe you turn off the TC, but its a habit I need to develop.
Personally I hate broken parts and I will be spending the dough to get it fixed.
I figured that 10 000 dollar line of credit would be good for something

JimW, I have been away for awhile, not only a hockey dad but a soccer dad also. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Any way to work around it? As I said in the past, not that up on the aurora yet. I sure appreciate everyone on this site, so friendly. Good luck on the ETCBM

Thank you.
It appears that if I turn the Traction Control OFF before I put the car in 3rd or OD the problem goes away. I need more time to study the problem and explore a solution, failing that, then I will be forced to get a new module.

Do you know what caused it to go? That sucks. Can you pick one up from a junk yard for less than the $1100? I guess 1100 Canadian dollars is only like 58 US bucks... Ha ha ha, just kidding!!

LOL..I get that WAY to often.. Its actually about $790 USD at the current exchange rate, there are a few wrecker yards that I will be contacting. Regarding how it died...no idea, once electronics start to go haywire its either live with it or replace it

Did you have any warning signs? If so, what are some of the symptoms (other than the traction control light).

That sucks, sorry to hear it. I'm sure you'll get it working one way or another.
