Ok, this is getting to be a real problem now.
I have found that some can be refurbished if you send in your core unit, the downside is the car is undrivable while you wait for the new unit to be sent in.
Here is the second dilemma: GM Parts Direct doesnt ship to Canada, and I found one that will cost me about half the regular price even after the conversion.
According to my dealer, they are unaware of refurbished ABS/TC modules. Anyone know differently?

Jim,
if you want to get that part then you can get it shipped to me and the I will ship it to you. I don't know how much shipping is, but I'm sure we can do something.

Already got it solved. Ordering tomorrow from www.gmpartsdirect.com, getting it for $392.00 USD, having it sent to my good buddy in Syracuse and he will express it to Toronto for me, as well as including my manuals so I can change it myself.. Thanks for the offer bud!

I found a used one for $150 dollars in a city just north of me, getting it at lunch. Thats a great idea, I think I will do that! Get it refurbed and sell it! hrrmmm I know its a problem on the car, so it will fix the TC problem, however if a wheel speed sensor is off them that will also kick on the ABS light...one thing at a time I suppose

Another update
The module is installed but I am also showing P0025 (open or short of wheel speed sensor)
Here is where it gets interesting. I have no issues with the ABS or TC until the car gets sufficiently driven. With the TC of it begins to engage the TC for no reason, and immediately after that the ABS light comes on. This was happening before and now after the successful installation of the module.
I priced out a new driver side front hub assembly (spindle) that houses all the wiring, and WSS, it cost me $230 dollars.
I knew I had a problem back in May with the ETCBM, but it mysteriously went away, I believe its the WSS itself and NOT the ETCBM.
At any rate, I'm glad I didnt spend $1100 CDN on a new ETCBM. Worst case scenario (is actually the one I am kinda in) is I have 2 functioning ETCBM's AND I need a new front hub.
I'm pretty sure that will cure my problems.
