Mr. Javi started this project a while back. If we can get enough interest they will make these for us... Here's the link: speedhut.com EL Aurora gaugesI wouldn't mind a set... let's see how much interest we can get for these!

If they did all four gauges and not just speedometer and tach I would be interested. I just think it would look out of place. Since javi confirmed today that the bulbs are replacable with 194 led bulb in a pc socket. It just seems more cost effective as well to go led route.

I believe it is all four since they replace the whole cluster, but yeah the replacement bulbs are definitely easier. If I got the gauges they would be a black face with red lighting and I can get the same thing with red bulbs.

FYI, everyone. I did the replacement of the 194 bulbs, but was not really happy with the end result, you will get hot spots across the dash gauges, light will not be evenly distributed.
That's one of the reasons, I decided to start a project on the EL gauges instead.
Also if you read the details on the EL Custom gauges, you can design them with your custom emblems and such. Like the Aurora "A" or something cool like that.

I might as well drive a delorean for bringing up this old thread... but very curious if anyone actually got custom gauges.

Ahhh I see after all these years there wasn't enough interest to get the orders made.
Good night.

Nope, closest we've gotten is LED back lighting.

Alright, in my past vehicles i have always used these leds.. Are the ones below better to ensure a consistently even illumination?

For LEDs, think diffusers ... These just slip on over the LEDs and help spread the light evenly and are quite effective at eliminating hot spots. They come in various colors, and you can mix and match with different colored LEDs for special shades. You can also check around for various LED assemblies that have the diffusers built in. All else fails, you can get "frost" paint that's used for acrylics and add layers as desired to tone down and spread the light. Lots of options ... but I kinda like the stock lighting on the classics. PS ... keep in mind, all LEDs aren't dimmable ...
