can i damage the engine from driving with a single fouled plug? im not sure if its 1 or 2 plugs but i am getting them replaced monday.
anyway my question is, can it get damaged because it is missing and backfiring when i step on it. i thought these were supposed to last to 100k too....hmm. i hope i didnt damage anything and is there anything i should look out for, like does it dirty up the motor oil or anything?

I inspected my plugs at 70k and found several were worn so I changed the whole set, the car ran much better and the mileage increased a little too. If a spark plug does not fire some unburned gasoline can remain in the cylinder, engine oil dilution can result. For your sake I hope the trouble can be rectified by only changing the plugs. A final thought, if the miss is on two cylinders, one of the coils could be going bad, one coil fires two cylinders.

Well it's Monday now so this probably is no longer an issue, but...
I would be wary to drive far on a known misfire, although if your SES light does NOT come on then I suppose the engine is handling it. My light popped on last time after only 1-2 minutes of driving on a misfire.
Post an update when you've got it!

what plugs and wires are you going with? Letitroll98 had good luck with Magnecor race wires (7mm I think) (Don't quote me on that) and I have heard good things about NGK Iridium Plugs.

Yes, the Magnecor's were the 7mm ones, the cheapest they make for modern electronically controlled engines. It won't hurt a thing to spend for the more expensive sets. They have an 8mm set in the same line, same conductor with better insulation. Then their full race sets in 8.5mm and 10mm. Again, won't hurt to spend extra except they'll be hard to fit into the existing routing insets. Got mine from UltraRev.com. You can order from the manufacturer but they are full retail there.
Most plug recommendations are for regular old AC Delco replacements. The NKGs recommended by erw38 have also been praised, but are not as universally recommended. Do not go with any unrecommended plug as most all out there are unsuitable in this application. Do not ever clean your plugs. They are meant to run with a natual oxide coating that is destoyed during cleaning. Best of luck.
