The ELC is the Eletronic Level Control. Its consists of an air pump that is used to "auto level" the rear shocks. You should hear a buzzing from the rear end of your car when you turn the key to the acc position (don't starr the engine) and ahould shut off after 15 or 20 seconds. I am not the pro on this. Look for Isnibs or JimW. I think they have both dealt with the ELC system in some capacity before.

justchaos First, welcome to the club.
If your compressor keeps on running it sounds like you may have an air leak . Each shock has a small rubber tube connecting it to the compressor. You should be able to see them without to much trouble. Check that they are not leaking when the compressor runs. They have a small metal clip holding them in position at the shocks, you can remove one ( take care the rear of the car may come down a few inches) and if there is no air being pumped out then your compressor my be a goner. If there is then it's time for new shocks.
Other than that follow the thread "Rear Shocks- compressor"
