A couple times recently just after starting the engine, my DIC is chiming and displaying "Check Oil Level". I've checked it, and it seems fine... the oil looks to be at about the #2 dot (out of 5 or 6) between the "Add" and "Full" markings on the dipstick. Any other reason for the repeated warning? Where is that sensor anyway?

The only reason the oil DIC warning should go off is when the levels are less then 4L, a top up couldnt hurt, these cars do burn a bit of oil due to such high compression.
I wouldnt worry Scotty, this happened to me once or twice.

Is oil consumption normal for this car? My oil level is constant between changes.

'xactly My car is far from perfect so I'm gonna drive it, it burns a bit of oil, most of the time my levels are 99.5% fine, but it doesnt suprise me that once in a blue moon the levels read a bit low. Top up time, and nothing to worry....err unless you find a puddle somewhere

it seems like there have been alot of "DIC" troubles out here lately....a couple of us with "Low coolant" some with "change oil now" and some with "check oil" almost seems like theres some kind of "central computer" somewhere controlling our DICs that has had malfunctions....could it be the cold ?? Mine was fine all summer until the weather changed

My Check Oil Level has come off and on for about 4 years now...it does burn some oil, like normal....but also leaks some. I always check my oil level and add when needed. Whether the level is high or low it does not seem to make a difference. My sensor is probably bad but I have gotten used to it.
