I will be doing a write-up on this as well throughout the 1500 miles of phase 1. Is there anyway i can remove the cover to see the engine parts to see how dirty like i know they are?

There certainly is. If you remove the plastic engine cover, you will see some screws holding the manifold cover on. You can rip it off and take a look at the cams. You will have to take off the spark plug wires for it.
I don't know if I would do it though. You would be risking the introduction of dirt into the engine. Although, I think you would be fine if you did it. Just remember, if you do do it, either get another gasket or get some spay adhesive gasket stuff from the auto parts store. Also, remember what spark plug wire goes where. Keep in mind that the only engine that I have seen topless was a 1995 Integra 1.8L. So, I speek only because I have seen it done and not from personal experience. Be careful with whatever you do.

are you talking about taking off the intake manifold? if so there is a $60+ gasket to replace.

well, not sure what you can see here but this is the way the filler hole looked before i dumped in the Auto-RX. Yes, the filler hole is the way for mortals to see the insides. Although the pic looks somewhat like some really perverted porno I've seen, you can clearly see enough to judge any general cleaning action. If you look way over to the right you can see the first cam profile of the #2 cylinder. The oil tube directly below the filler cap should be showing a lot of build up now. All of the visable aluminium casting that now has some burnt oil coating will be cleaned. Additionally, the rough steel casting of the cam shaft will be clean of deposits as well. This inspection is no substitute for engine teardown, but I think it's enough to see if the darn stuff is working at all. You did drain out the Mobil One didn't you Steven?
