it really depends on your province, were do you live? I am in new brunswick and our inspections yearly dont make you have to have the DRL work Maybe you have a lax inspection station? ;D See section 2.7.1 www.gnb.ca/0276/vehicle/pdf/mechanicguide-e.pdfMax.

The RIV, Registrar of Imported Vehicles is a Federal agency. It runs under the Canada Border Services. When you bring the vehicle in, you have to go to any local RIV inspection location for confirmation that the DRL's are operational as per the manufactures spec, as well as other safety regulations, safety belts etc. You also have to obtain for RIV, a letter from the manuf. declaring that no recall applies to the vehicle. Once you have an approved RIV inspection form, you can have the vehicle safetied for provincial requirements. Only then can you register and insure it, the RIV must be OK'd within a certain time limit or you have to export the vehicle back. The mention of the Hi-beam flash, I was very used to that driving in Europe it has been in use there for around 50yrs, and has become a defined sign language for passing etc, mainly for courtesy. Max. I agree on that. We always use the flash and never the horn. Running daytime lights is a new thing here and many car dealers have it as a option. We have always used the half beem instead here in Sweden, and when the winter comes, many have "one eye car" because a bulb burned out ...

We love cars, specially classic US cars, and we have the oldest cars in Europe on our roads here in Sweden.

I bent the #85 pin back on the DRL relay and put it back in and now I have what I wanted. Parking lights and fogs only during the day.

According to the print that would not make sense as it shows feeding the coil only. The only explanation I can think of is that the pin actually has two connections that are made when the pin is inserted. I rewired a '95 bonneville a few years back and it was amazing how many discrepancies there were between the factory print and what actually was in the car. Max.

Sorry to dust off this thread, but I found this in a Caddy forum; How to disable DRL on a 2002...
DRL can be disabled-enabled with the dome light overide button. Check in your owners manual, its like key on the 5 times on-off on the dome overide button and the BCM will chime to tell you if its enabled or not. That procedure worked on my 02, I had to enable DRL to pass Canadian inspection. Also, the park brake has to be off, and gear selector has to be outta park for the DRL's to come on. Keep us posted. Is there a domelight override switch in an Aurora?

Dusting off this old thread haha - Well I sat in my car & messed around with my DIC forever & wasn't able to find a trick way to disable my DRL like robaurora01 mentioned. My car is a Canada car but I shipped it to Texas where I live. So is bending the pin back the best way? I hate how your DRL will not turn off when you have your park lights or just fogs on.

You can cut the pin off, in any case relays can be picked up at a wreckers for couple $'s for a handfull. I doubt you would be able to disable it with the DIC if it is a Canadian model, due to the strict DRL regs in Can. Did you set the displays for imperial from metric now you are in the US? Just push and hold the DIC ON for 5 secs. The DIC Universal Service codes on the Canadian model may confuse your local service stn.!! Max.
