I WAS LOOKING AT YHE UNDERCARRIGE OF MY 95 THE OTHER DAY AND NOTICED, HMMM THAT MAIN EXHAUST PIPE LOOK REALY SMALL. IT GOES FROM A DUAL AT THE HEADERS TO A SINGLE 2' TO THE BACK OF THE CAR AND THEN SPLITS OFF TO TWO 2' PIPES. WOULDNT A NICE 4' PIPE FROM THE TO THE SPLIT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE WITH THE RITE MUFFLERS OF COURSE. ;D

with that big of a pipe you're going to lose torque. The only part I'd really worry about replacing is the T-Bend (replace it with a Y split) and the mufflers. Other than that the exhaust is sufficient for the 4.0. Maybe some headers and a new catalytic converter could help too. But the bigger the pipe the more torque you're going to lose. You will gain some horsepower though.

Stop YELLING I think you should concentrate on what custom said. Form there you can go out to to magnaflows of dynomax mufflers.

how big are the stock pipes on the classic? i am craving some more performance. it feels like more air is getting out with the dynomax mufflers but the stock y-pipe and t crossover is restricting a lot i think.
i think a high flow cat could help too

There are Bonnevilles running in the 12's/13's with the stock exhaust without a problem. The Bonneville has the same exhaust as the Aurora. The intake on the other hand is restrictive. An open intake and a bigger throttle body would make a nice difference for sure.

cold air intake is useless on this 32V engine. its more air that counts, not just cold air. Besides the Aurora already comes with a cold air intake, believe it or not. It takes the air from underneath the front bumper.
I dont know how to do the airbox mod and i would very much appreciate it if someone could show me how.
now throttle bodies yeah that would be awesome. although stock is 76mm and now you are putting on 80mm hmm im not sure how much that would do.....
anyway i dont have the $800 for them i got the razzi kit going on and getting painted monday.

Colder air will help any engine, not just a supercharged engine. Yup, I know the air is pulled from the fenderwell the Riviera had the exact same setup to it. Would it be possible to show pictures of the inside of your airbox? On the riviera there was a huge red peice that you pried off two rivets holding the plastic on and pulled that out. the peice covered the entire top of the airbox and focused air down to a tiny square about 3x3 inches. By removing that top peice the air is allowed to flow throughout the entire top, not just that centralized point. Also, there is a peice of plastic that hangs down into the fenderwell that you can remove. It is about 6" long and hangs down. If you remove that you would then have a 4"x3" rectangle from where air would be drawn directly from below the air box. As for the throttle body, the aftermarket ones are not only bigger on the inside, but they're polished and smoother allowing for more laminar air flow. I've heard they make quite a big difference in peformance actually. Stock throttle bodies usually are round except for one side where the MAF sensor is. On the aftermarket ones they are round all the way around.

Would it be possible to show pictures of the inside of your airbox? This has been covered in great detail in this thread ... "K&N + Airbox gut". Many of us have done this "gut" to our Classics, although I don't have the K&N filter yet.

Great thread. Didn't see that one before. Yup, the peice you remove is tan on the aurora, the Riviera's was red. The airbox is the same airbox though. Every single part is identical besides the color.

last time i took of my airbox lid thing was to replace the air filer in july. trust me that filter looked even dirtier than Omegaic's in that thread you posted custom88. It looked like it had never been changed before. I remember the car was so much better with a clean filter.
One problem guys i have a broken latch where that circular clamp goes back into its hole (where that huge hose going into the airbox is). I had a hell of a time getting that to stay put and i had to keep checkign if it was coming off and if i was getting dirt into the motor.
I ripped my hands all up from doing that. horrible spot for a airbox on GM's part. darnit. anyway i dont feel like doing that again, it was too much of a hassle and if that thing breaks i cant drive the car.
i will show a pic tomorrow.

However, a 4" pipe would be way overkill, and would probably not even fit in the exhaust track in the body. Honestly, a pipe that large would probably sound like crapola too, without increasing the performance over a 3" or maybe even 2.75" pipe. The engine does not need to move that much volume. cold air intake is useless on this 32V engine. its more air that counts, not just cold air. Besides the Aurora already comes with a cold air intake, believe it or not. It takes the air from underneath the front bumper. Cold air is more air. For any given volume of air at the same pressure, colder = more actual mass of air in it.
