Uh oh... my Aurora is leakin' oil. I haven't yet looked at the underside closely enough to see where it's coming from, but I just noticed numerous small drip spots on the garage floor yesterday. I think the numerous spots are from my varying parking positions, not because the oil is leaking from various places... The good news is that my extended warranty DOES cover seals and gaskets, so hopefully anything under there that sprung a leak won't set me (personally) back too much. I'll keep y'all updated!

Any car will eventually turn up with oil leaks. I don't care how well it's built & how much it costs. ________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Agreed. It may just be the metal crimps along the oil lines, they tend to degrade.
Hopefully its nothing to serious.
Good luck Scott..keep us up to date.

The only recent service was an oil change, but that was already 5-6 weeks ago I think. However it's been dripping for awhile because I can see all the older drop spots in a cluster. I just never see the garage floor when my Aurora's not there (because I'm usually behind the wheel!), so I didn't notice until my wife had it out and I was at home the other morning. Maybe the oil change shop did overfill my crankcase... I never thought to check it myself. hmm.....

they did that once one time -- filled it with 8 quarts. morons. now every time i take it in - i have to tell them 7 quarts and not 1 drop over.
However i did get that last oil change for free because i complained a lot. 1 extra quart, as we all know, is NOT healthy for the engine.

1st place to check for an oil leak is the filter. Wipe it off with a rag and check it after warm up. Any leak will be spotted quickly.

Well I changed my oil again last night (in accordance with the 1500 mile Auto-Rx treatment cycle), and looked around for where I thought my leak was originating. The filter was totally clean, but the plug on the oil pan looked like it could be leaking slightly. I hope that's all it is! I'll replace the plug regardless, because the hex-head is getting pretty rounded and seemed to small for my 9/16 socket when I removed it. We'll see!
