Does anyone have any info on changing the S-belt. I'm pretty sure mine needs to be replaced and I will do it myself if its not to hard. Although I heard that the engine has to be jacked up a little bit and an engine mount has to be removed to get the belt off/on. Is this true? I'm new to this message board so if there is already a thread about this just let me know.

I have a 95 and replaced the belt a couple of years ago. I didn't have to do anything with the engine that you mention, but I remember it being very difficult to thread the belt thru and around all the pulleys. Plan on being very frustrated, but you will eventually succeed. Make sure you make a drawing or have a picture of how the belt is supposed to be routed before you take it off. Cutting the old belt off is the easiest way to remove it. Unfortunately, this technique doesn't work in installing the new one!

Yes, you don't have to remove anything to get the old belt off. Making a drawing of the belt routing is a great idea. I'd also recommend removing the passenger tire and wheelhouse cover so that you can access the bottom part of the belt. It makes the job a lot easier.

Thanks for the tips stelte and ITGeek. I changed the belt yesterday. It was a pain in the butt, but I did it. I would say its a two person job. At least getting the new belt on, is a two person job. I don't think you could do it without taking the passenger side wheel off and the wheelhouse cover like you suggested.
