I just changed my airfilter/did airbox mod to notice that my transmission was replaced (as it has junkyard white marker/pen on it w/ 97 aurora). Is there any possible way to know if it has the autobahn gears or not?!

yup ;D get me the derivative VIN,(9 numbers i think) [#11] and the other numbers above the bar code tag.[#10] (#5 on the tag should be NN for a 4T80-E) you'll have to crawl under the car

O-O, very good question! If it hollers tires from a stop it's an Autobahn, standard Rora's won't do that *ducks from flying car parts* I was KIDDING haha.

Looks like I am about to start on a new adventure by removing the engine/trans out of my 98 autobahn (bad head gasket@140000). I have acquired an engine and Trans out of a 99 Aurora that was wrecked. My problem is that The title or any info about that wrecked 99 is unavailable/Crushed. I need to know if this tranny is an autobahn or not. I read somewhere in here that its possible to tell by the numbers on the tranny so I got into my service Manual and found the numbers and tried to decipher them but still dont know if it has the 3.71 final drive gear in it. Can someone help me ot here? Thanks alot. Attachments:

Wouldn't an autobahn trans not work with your pcm? Different shift points, etc. (Referring to the TS)

Different shift points, etc. (Referring to the TS) I think your right there I thought this too, but according to people that had the non bahn PCM with the bahn transmission, it just hesitates a little between shifts. But I tested the shift points today, and it goes into 2nd gear around 14 MPH @ 2200 RPM and I believe 3rd was around 30 MPH @ 2100 RPM.
