Your transmission is an M76, I think. The Intrigue used an MN3 - possibly just a transfer ratio difference to get there, but the LX5 is listed as having a larger TC than the M76. If you go newer - 2003+ used the hardened 4th gear hub in them all, not just the HD version.
You can get just about any 4T65 to work, just a matter of the transfer gear set and computer programming once you have the right TC match.

The trannys in Auroras are MN3 actually and you have to keep the converter.

So you LX5 guys in the Aurora run about 1700 rpm at 60 mph? That's about what the MN3 in the Intrigue runs.

4T65-E
The 4T65-E was introduced to replace the 4T60-E in 1997. The 4T65-E included a larger 258 mm torque converter for some models and many other changes to improve reliability. It is able to handle vehicles up to 6500 lb (2948 kg) GVWR with up to 280 ft·lbf (380 N·m) of torque. A number of final drive ratios are available, with many distinct models. Starting in mid year 2000 models, all 4T65-E models received an upgraded valve body. Starting in 2003 the internal electronics were changed, hardened 4th gear shaft, ratcheting sprags for input and 3rd gear were added.
Models:
M15 — 245 mm (9.6 in) torque converter
MN3 — 258 mm (10.2 in) torque converter

It's all in the fine specs. yup your right on that! i just looked at a vin brakedown of 01's (mine, and a 4.0) and came up with: 51,972 overall production. 3.5L(LX5) 37,397 MN3 TRANSMISSION FINAL DRIVE 3.29(FR9)4T65-E 37,397 4.0L,(L47) 14,575 FV4 RATIO TRANSAXLE FINAL DRIVE 3.71 3.71R(FV4) 14,575 so the math said MN3, only! i failed to fact check, that................
