So i let my girlfriend drive to her house today (and mind you she is an excellent driver), and someone pulled out of a parking space and hit my passenger front fender. Not only is the paint and fender damaged but i can't open the door because the fender is rammed under the door and there's something wrong with my washer fluid pump motor. I can deal with the paint (even though it is pinstriped down the entire passenger side) but I got an estimate and the repairs are going to cost $2300 to fix. Also the officer couldn't determined who was at fault and I don't want the adjuster to say I was and have to fix a 96 infiniti so what should I do. I figure someone on the forum should know someway to pull the fender off or whatever. This is the best car i've had so help me

I'm an independant insurance damage appraiser. Normally if ask the shop that wrote the estimate they will pull the fender forward so there is no additional damage to the door. It'll take them about 2 minutes if they know what they are doing and and they shouldn't charge anything for it. Many insurance companies rely on the police report for fault but others completely ignore it. If he said he couldn't tell fault then your insurance will take care of you and the other party's insurance company with pay for theirs. Fault is almost never determined in parking lot accidents.

90% sure its that guys fault anyone who makes maneuver is mostly that person fault . so if you were standing or passing by and he pull out and hit you its his fault.

good news, i found a parts car for about 300-500. i forgot what year it is but it seems to be in good shape. i think it is the other drivers fault so hopefully it gets fixed and i dont have to pay anything.
also, it wasn't a parking lot incident. my gf was drive down the road and the other driver pulled out and my gf swerved to avoid her but she still managed to back into my car. her bumper has a black paint mark while mine has a dented fender, and a pinstripe down the side. ill send pics later

In some states, if you hit someone while backing it's automatically your fault.
Good luck with the repairs. Remember the insurance company's objective is to get out by paying the least possible. They forget they are responsible to compensate you for your loss....
