Yes, really odd, especially that the darn car (wife's car) sat in the driveway for 1 month as she went to Europe, so I just drove it 3 times, to have it rustproofed and have one of the rear window regulators replaced. When she came back, she drove the car a couple of days and there you go: door actuator went bad and now this, trans fluid pissing all over the driveway, it's funny somehow to see the long trails of oil the car left behind, from the street into the driveway for over 100 feet, or I park the car and look at the oil dripping right under my nose in a steady way.

Too bad you were not in Colorado. There is a 2001 Aurora there at the Pull & Save. I just went there last week and picked up a bunch of stuff I needed. All the front end still looks good.
Majority of the times it is just the motor, not the whole regulator. It is about a 30 minute job. The motors run about $30 or $40.

Got the trans oil leak fixed today. The lines were rusted out and had to be replaced but nowhere to be found, not at GM, not at RockAuto, so the mechanic improvised and made me new lines, or at least a part of them. This car uses parts even scarcer than for an import luxury car :-(
I'm still waiting for the door actuator....

I had the same problem with my Chrysler LH-body, 5 years ago. Impossible to find OEM replacement for transmission oil cooler lines..

UPDATE!!!!!! So before replacing the door actuator I decided to go to a garage to check the pressure and refrigerant first. To my surprise, there was no pressure and refrigerant almost gone. They made a test on the AC system and air was leaking from several spots, in top of the compressor that needed to be re-threaded!!! because of uneven use So, basically, after 2 seals being replaced and compressor threads redone.....$300 later, AC works perfectly again. I felt awkward calling my buddy to tell him if he can return the door actuator as it is not the defective part on my Aurora

I had similar issue with Intrigue 2 - the left was kinda warm and the right was sort of OK....Pulled the actuator and it functioned just fine under AA battery power. Put the gages on it and only had about 15 lbs on the low side. Half can later all much better. Those $39.00 Harbor Freight gages pay for themselves pretty quickly....

One trick I used when replacing the actuator was to turn ignition on to accessory and turn selection knob. This rotated the actuator just enough for it to slip in. Not a fun or a quick job! But it is done. Thanks for this forum, it has been a great help. 2002 Aurora
