Also really thinking about these 6x9 for the rear deck to cover the mids and potentially some highs. If I can get time alignment all tweaked! These things are pretty beast for a 6x9. A 6x9 has almost as much surface area as an 8" sub so it makes for a perfect mid. 150 RMS play down to 40hz with 70 oz magnet?? www.woofersetc.com/p-6024-cvls-69-cadence-6x-9-3-way-coaxial-speakers.aspx

haha! I am just hoping the composite rear shelf can handle them weight wise. A dual battery setup would also be nice to run the CarPC and stereo system when the car is off but not really wanting to buy two new batteries to do it properly right now. A simple paralleled battery setup with aux battery isolated with a solenoid. Not in the cards now though. Current battery will be three years old come April maybe then. Here is the wiring ended up looking at the junction. Lid still closes perfectly fine. All in all it is fairly simple. If one has never taken the intake off before to access the starter, just take your time!

Ultimately I passed on the Cadence 6x9s. The magnets just don't mke the speaker but they look cool haha. I went with what should be be a better overall 6x9. I purchased a pair of CDT HD 690CFX. Here are specs. Frequency response: 30Hz-20.000Hz Power handling: 200WRMS Impedance: 4 Ohm Sensitivity: 90.6 dB Dimensions: 6.625"X 9.25" Ellipse (168.3mm X 235mm) Ellipse (Exclusive of mounting tabs)6" X 8.625" Ellipse (152.4mm X 219mm) Ellipse Free Air use mount in rear deck, large door or panel Mounting depth: 3.5" Cone: carbon fiber Magnet weight 30 Oz Cone surround Buytal rubber Voice coil: 2.0" They actually have better specs than Cadence just not the magnet size and take a little more power to get as loud. I'm not going for loud though as in screeching highs.

Like the lower frequency response, should blend well with the 3.5's in the rear doors...

Like the lower frequency response, should blend well with the 3.5's in the rear doors... I am not sure I will be using the rear 3.5" speakers. I really bought the 6x9 for the rear fill. Planning to run them from about 60 or 80Hz up to about ~250-300Hz for mid-bass only. Though I specifically bought these so I could run them full range or high pass only as well. They do get pretty low though if you want to run them like that. I have the subwoofer that handles everything between ~23 and 80Hz. Though I may bump that down to 60Hz and run the mid-bass from there. I wish the Classic had 5.25" in the rear doors and I would put a nice mid-bass driver there, but nope. Dimwitted Bose decided that was the perfect place for a useless 3.5" mid driver.

Right on. I never understood the whole listen to my system on youtube videos thing... I was talking to awhelage about that the other day haha.
It sounds pretty good right now though! The CDT components really are top notch and made in the USA. I still have a lot of software tweaking to do though which I am just getting into.

Ok I am a Stereo N00B. Can you put together a schematic and post it? This may be a project, albeit on a smaller scale, that I may do for daughters birthday this summer... She has blown up the cheap stuff I have used twice ...gene

She has blown up the cheap stuff I have used twice ...gene Hey Gene, what would you like a diagram for? Right, you will find that off the shelf stuff is not so great and local shops charge a premium. There is also some way over priced equipment in general for what it is. I mentioned before that I use a CarPC instead of a traditional head unit. This gives me a lot flexibility for tuning. I am no expert by any means and try to learn as I go. A big three or big five like I did is not necessary in smaller wattage applications. Larger wire will never hurt though. Excited to get the new 6x9s in though when they arrive.

Measured the pre-amp outs on the sound card and as expected they are less than 2V. So, I purchased an inexpensive 2/3 way crossover/line driver. It has 8.5v max pre-amp out. Still waiting for my 6x9s

Short video of line driver in action. Now I don't have to deal with the weak CarPC sound card pre-amp voltage. Will make for keeping the gains and hopefully noise floor low.

Has anyone ever ran their RCAs down the middle of the vehicle? Difficulty? The shop that installed mines ran it under the driver side panel and under the opening of the driver and the rear driver side door(dont know what ya wanna call that but).

Yeah wiring down the side is a cake walk. Takes a few minutes only about 5 screws total. I'm looking for middle under the carpet routing and if it's feasible. The final piece to the puzzle is a PPI P900.4. Ditching the BOSS amplifier. Channels 4 ch. No doubt! I picked up an SQ Q1-1200D amplifier as well for a future addition. So will lose a bit of trunk space instead of gaining some like the original goal. At this rate I won't be finished for a few months :/

SQ Q-1200D and second SQ HDS312 received! Have a new dual enclosure coming as well. Looking into running a dual battery setup in the near future. Locally Duracell AGMs look to be the best deal.

I'm officially tuned in! And the install is clean as expected from you. Those subs are mean! Especially for the price. Don't be surprised if you see me jump on the SoundQubed band wagon LOL

Don't be surprised if you see me jump on the SoundQubed band wagon LOL The SQ subs are very nice IMO. I noticed in your tablet thread you have Kinetic battery. Are going to isolate the two batteries? Pairing the Kinetic AGM battery with your stock group 79? It should all be nice once it is all finished. Still quite a bit of parts/materials to collect to be where I want to be. Maybe in a couple months haha.

Actually what I did was replace the factory battery period!! The timing of it was perfect. My battery went out during the cold winter. A new factory battery was $180, and I was able to get the Kinetik for $165. No brainer.

I have everything on order except the aux battery to get this finished some time. Basically restarting the project besides installing door speakers haha. - 10' Red 4ga Royal Excelene Welding Cable

- 25' Black 1/0ga Royal Excelene Welding Cable

...and as mentioned need to purchase the Duracell Group 34/78 AGM battery for isolated dual battery setup.

Not much to update. Grabbed an Exide Group 34 AGM battery(great deal at $105) and a solenoid to isolate the two batteries with engine off. Had to remove the trunk latch to fit the enclosure, which meant removing the rear fascia. Luckily the rear fascia only takes me about ten minutes to remove. Anyways the enclosure is in there with both SQ HDS312 mounted and wired. Plan is to mount and secure the battery behind the rear seat and behind the enclosure in some form or fashion .

Have you considered using one of the new li-po booster batteries for that 2nd battery? Price has come down to $60 range for a 10AH,200A max pack that's the size of a thick paperback and weighs ounces. Are these finding their way into mobile audio installs?
