So I did routine maintenance on my car and once of my checks was checking the tranny fluid. I took the dipstick out and noticed on a cold engine, there was absolutely no fluid in sight. I had GM flush my tranny and replace my fluid at 92,000 miles, now I have 107,000 miles. I saw on the dipstick it shows the cold line and then it shows the hot line. When my car is hot, the fluid is in sight, almost to the brim and the fluid is perfect for the hot line when I pull the dipstick out, but I am confused as to why my fluid is not where it should be on the dipstick where the cold line is?
Also there are no leaks whatsoever. I went under my car and nothing is leaking. I even orange degreased cleaned underneath and washed everything with a hose then took her for a long drive and nothing on the return. So I know it isn't leaking. As always guys, thanks for the help.

The trans oil has to be checked with the car completely warmed up.

Hope this doesn't sound insulting but, you do have the engine running when you check it cold right?

Lol not insulting. No I don't have it running. Is it different for this car? On my grand national and regal GS I always checked it cold and it was fine. But gathering what was said it is clear now, so I'm glad everything is fine.

Yeah, 4T80E is dry sump. If the engine isn't running, you won't see anything on the dipstick.
When you said it read good hot, I had to ask!
