The tach in my 98 autobahn has been going crazy for a little while now and now the speedo is trying to act up too (randomly). No codes on the car, fuses and battery are good. I was thinking speed sensor for the tach but now that the speedo has started, I'm wondering what it is. Car has 382K km's on it.
Thoughts?

Common symptom of bad CKP(crankshaft position) sensors in 2G's. Often accompanied by intermittent stall and/or no start and no code.
Just a thought!

I would second what Tigger says here. My Classic displayed the same symptoms until it finally stalled. Took me all of two minutes to come home and order a pair of ACDelco crankshaft position sensors. No issues since then. Easy DIY IMO.

Hmm, interesting - a new symptom of the bad CKP sensors. I'm sure mine are faulty (does the stalling thing once in a while) but I've never bothered to change them.
