Just got a sweet deal *$168* on some 18x7 GXP 5x115 bolt on wheels. What do you guys think as far as tire setup? Bigger up front and smaller out back. Or should they be same size all around? I have a classic 98 aurora

I think GXP wheels are wider in front than in back. The GXP ABS is programmed for different front and rear wheels. You may have a problem refitting these on your Aurora.

Front = 18 X 8, wheel offset 40mm
Rear 18 X 7, wheel offset 55mm
All will be fine with 255s though the rear is sunk in 4mm than the already horrible looking factory offset. As long as the overall tire height is the same or close to factory all is well with speedo/PCM/ABS.

Will the extra inch spread on the sidwall change the diameter slightly therefore causing an ABS sensor issue?

I know that a few members here have run GXP wheels with no problems. 95 mushroom is the first one that I can recall, but I know there are more. I think they look great. I would get a set for mine if I came upon them.

There will be no issues. I run 255/35-20 all around. With +45mm offset up front and +32mm in the rear. Front soon to changed to +35mm offset.

Let us know how this works out James because I love the 5 spoke GXP look but thought the non-staggered ones off a Bonneville GXP were our only option.
Guys, can he run the 7's up front and the 8's out back on an Aurora or is the offset out of line to do that?

It shouldn't matter. He could run one width on each side if he felt like it technically. The 40mm offset is fine and will look better. The 55mm offset should still be fine but will look worse as it will pulls the wheel in further than the 51mm factory offset. The Bonneville GXPs are +43mm offset and would look better all the way around. It's not anything some good hub and wheelcentric spacers can't take care of.

What do you guys think on 235/50/18? Im trying to keep the price down... might have to purchase tires 2 at a time.
Thank you all for putting in all the feedback.

They will work. However IMHO save for a little while longer. The 255s look so much better.
