were the the chrome rims an option for the 02 model like they were in previous years? mine are painted but i like the chrome much better

I don't know why they wouldn't be. The 4.0 Auroras got 17s and the 3.5 Auroras got 16s, but chrome was an option on all years. The Final 500s got 17" (18"?) chrome Seville rims. This one is a 3.5 so it has 16" wheels, but they're chrome.

Yep, they were available in '02.
You can find decent sets on Ebay occasionally. I picked up one at the Pull-a-Part to use as a full sized spare, $22.00, fairly new Goodyear included.

All wheels from 95 and up will fit, doesn't have to be a set of 2002 chrome wheels. Any Aurora wheels will fit. (in fact, all wheels with the 5x115 pattern will fit just fine, although you have different offsets to worry about. But that's a different discussion!

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the upgrade to factory chrome wheels though. Many leakage issues on those old chrome wheels.
