Turned right in my 2003 Aurora & sounded like I hit something. Now going over large bumps & speed bumps noisy clunk & not sure which side. No oil leaks from struts & no problem with steering. New rack was installed last year. Is there bottimg cushions on strut or springs?

My Toronado had a strut turn plate go bad. I believe that was what it was called. I never did fine a good way to test it but after it passed all the ball joint tests in the world I put on a used strut assy from my parts car and the noise was gone.
Is there a way to test the top of the strut there?

Possible that you popped a sway bar link on one side.
Nice IROC btw. Have a 79 Z-28 in my stable.

Check the coil springs. I had one break, right side, about one loop up from the bottom. The car kept making a loud clunking/rattling sounds going over bumps or down bumpy roads. It was the part of the coil that broke off moving around. Once I got it out I could see the coil had a defect in it from when it was made. I was surprised it made it as long as it did. I didn't hit anything or go through a pot hole when it broke, it just gave way.
