So driving with my Gf in my 01' 4.0 Aurora. I was approaching a red light and saw a dark blue deville, with "DTS" on the back, to the right of me, already waiting at the light. It was the newer style, 05 to 2011. I was a little ahead of him, but noticed it was a young guy. It was an open dead road, i figured what the hell. Let me do a rev and see if he bites. With my Corsa, it can definitely be heard haha. Well as we were sitting there. I was already slighty ahead of him at the light. He kept creeping up, til he was almost pretty even. I said to my Gf, hey maybe there's a chance. I'm curious to see how the Rora stacks against it after my Y-pipe, ported intake manifold mods. B.c a while back i ran a 320hp STS and he had me by a car til about 80mph.
So the light turns green, i take off normal and it seemed like he did. But then close to about the time i was approaching 30mph, he guns it and it evens next to me just as i gunned it. I pulled on him slowly and approaching 70mph i had a car on him, but about 80, i was slowly creeping further away. I shutdown at 90mph, so did he. I was surprised. I thought with the vin 9, he would slowly start passing me, but that wasn't the case.
Internet lists the deville a 15.5 second car. We didn't go right off the line. I wonder if i would have pulled him off the line as well.
All in all.....Win for the Rora!!!

I imagine the DTS is heavier, but don't quote me on that.

^Haha, yeah, a lot of 'fuzzy' numbers here...
**STREET RACING IS STUPID**
The Cadillac Deville DTS ('00-'05) had the 300hp L37, a 290hp L37 for '05. The Cadillac DTS ('06-'11) had either the 290hp L37 or the 275hp LD8.
**STREET RACING IS STUPID**
The DTS/Deville DTS both outweigh the Aurora by as much as 250 pounds, depending on your source. But still have better power to weight ratios. And notable in this case, the Aurora has the added weight of a passenger...
**STREET RACING IS STUPID**
No established start or finish line. "I think he wants to race" and "I shut down at..." isn't quite the same as a Christmas tree and trap lights...
**STREET RACING IS STUPID**
I'm not saying this didn't, or couldn't happen. Just that it doesn't mean anything...

Post a time slip! LOL!

lol damn quit being so harsh...i get it i get it. Well with madtuner tuning, corsa exhaust, no CAT, custom air intake assembly, ported TB, ported intake manifold, that custom Y- pipe I had done, no spare tire/jack assembly and the 250lb weight reduction over the DTS on top of that, that had to account for something. I had my GF in the car, but he had a passenger as well. He def. stepped on it. And yea I know wasn't an off the line, christmas tree light pull, but the way I pulled on him. I'm pretty sure the results would have been in my favor for me making more distance. I will def. try and get over to Orlando Speedway real soon and get some 1/4 mile passes and post either a video or time slips. I'll keep ya posted
