I'm wanting to swap my 4.0 Oldsmobile for the Cadillac 4.6 but I need all the info on which Cadillac 4.6 engine I need to use. I also need to know if I need to swap the cam with the engine swap.

Don't know if I have "all" the info, but this is a back burner project of mine as well, haha.
Your choice. The VIN 9 has more horsepower, the VIN Y has more torque.
L37 (VIN 9) 300 hp (224 kW) @ 6000 rpm 295 lb·ft (400 N·m) @ 4400 rpm
LD8 (VIN Y) 275 hp (205 kW) @ 5600 rpm 300 lb·ft (407 N·m) @ 4000 rpm
L47 (Aurora) PCM will run either.
Easiest swap for the '01 Aurora is a 4.6 between '00-'03. Same ignition, injection, mounts and exhaust. Pretty much a direct fit/plug and play...
P.S. - Leave the cams alone, lol!

so any other year would have mounting issues? What do we need to retain from the 4.0? I believe they will run on the same PCM?
