Seems I have let the battery go completely dead and now cannot gain entry into car. 98 BTW. I have never used anything but the fob to lock and unlock the doors, and am not even sure what key "should" open doors. I have two fobs, both with an ignition key and a secondary key. Both secondary keys are non-GM recuts but both will open the trunk, but I cannot get either key from either set to open the doors. Both kinda fit, but will not budge lock no matter how much fiddling.
For starters. Which key should open doors?
Any thoughts or help?
Thanks, Brett
In the meantime I am gonna change batteries in one of the FOBs, but don't really think thats the battery thats dead.

On mine its the non ignition key. Spray penatrating oil to loosen it up.

It should be the non-ignition key. The one without a resistor in it. As was said spray some penetrating oil to loosen the lock.
If you can gain entry to the trunk you can use a broom stick to unlock the back door through the opening in the back seat. I've used this trick for Aurora's at the yard that were locked. Careful with that plastic divider though, I don't think I broke the button on it when I forced it open but then again I didn't check as it was a salvage yard car.
After that I think your only option is a locksmith.

OK, we're back in business. Overnight soak with spray penetrating lube did the trick, but not without some muscle. Worked lock back and forth until i got some movement, and still took another 10-15 times for key to smoothly go full lock - unlock. So maybe there is a lesson here for others. If you've had your car for multiple years and have never unlocked the doors with the key...... Rob, thankfully I didn't need the broomstick, but will file that one away for future reference. Thanks guys.

Well, thanks guys, had to go check mine after reading this, haha! Only remember using the key to unlock the door once, in 10+ years!
Happy to report all is well...

I have an aftermarket alarm and have had to use the key when the FOB died in the past so I know at least my driver's side is ok haha.
