As I was driving tonight my headlights were dimming dangerously low and my voltage would drop from 14.5 to 11 volts while I was doing 55mph in a dark highway. What is going on? I get home and it iddles between 12-14.5volts. battery is 2 years old

Sounds like alternator issues, or maybe a loose serpentine belt (old belt, bad tensioner/idler)

I've replaced the battery about two times since I've owned the car ... I know there is also another component in the charging system called thermister? Its in the battery area under the seat, can that be causing this issue ?I drove to the car this morning and charging was erratic maybe 2 times on the road . Here is the picture of my battery setup

I did run an alternator test and when it was good idling in park it was at and then when I caught it idling with low charge and pressing the gas and holding at 1500rpm it read this voltage from alternator so issue with alternator then?

Both those are low for a good alternator although the first one is at least close to normal. Thermistor could be the culprit too check out this thread

Thermistor could be the culprit too check out this thread I have looked into that and I was thinking of getting a replacement thermister...hope the cheap fix is the solution... If not off to the autoparts store to get an alternator
