Hi guys...put your thinking caps on, this one makes no sense at all. My car runs great...untill the cooling fans come on...then it stalls and won't come on till the temp sensor cools. I've kinda figured out a work around, I keep the heat cranked in the cabin and it keeps the fans from coming on, but that will only be ok till spring comes along and it starts to warm up. I've tried to suss it out in the wiring diagrams and it seems to lead to the pcm, but I can't see how that would shut the motor down, but I really suck at troubleshooting computer problems. Anybody have anything like that happen to them?

Hi. Nope, no misfires...just shuts down the engine....it will sit at idle for hours but when it's on the road it shuts down when I get the rpms over 2000 or so....sometimes.... That's what's so frustrating...it's totally random.

Crankshaft position sensor? Thats the only thing I could think of. Could be loose wire in the harness. I had a V6 that would die for no reason. Turned out to be a frayed wire on the connector.
If it was bad, it would throw a code.

Have that issue also, is a grounding issue. Don't have it handy, but there is a TSB for "premature shutdown before commanded" stored code or something like that. I just live with it, once every few weeks...

It sounds to me like it could be loading a circuit down that depends on a certain voltage level. I would check the wiring diagram, and see if the fans draw power from a circuit that is critical for a certain voltage level!
Just a thought!

Another idea, PCM ground maybe. I had one that came loose when the engine was under acceleration, it would torque because of the bad motor mounts and pulled it off the block.
