75 years ago today, in the desert in Socorro County, New Mexico, at exactly 5:29 AM, the world's first atomic bomb, code named "Big Brother" was exploded by those at the top level of Project Manhattan. The test of the bomb was code named "Trinity". That, of course, as we all know, led to the use of the "Little Boy" and the "Fat Man" on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, forcing Imperial Japan to surrender, ending WW2. I was just short of 2 years of age when all that happened, and without it, I might never have known my father, George, (1915-1999) or any of my uncles!
