I've just resoldered new bulbs into my instrument cluster -- but I don't see any light bulb for the needle on my gas gauge -- which doesn't light up. Is there an LED or light of some sort built into the stepper motor that turns the needle? What is the light source for the needles for tachometer, speedo and gauges? I just don't want to replace a working gauge stepper motor if it's something else that lights the needle. Thanks for any help.

I think I may have my answer; it now looks like the same light bulb that illuminates the gas gauge also seems to take care of the needle through a clear plastic ridge of some sort that directs light to the needle -- a bit like fiber optics did in the old days. But if I'm wrong, please advise, thanks.
