So that's what solved it? Years ago on a ford I had the same symptoms, turned out to be a broken subframe mount.

They put out a TSB about the cat heat shield ticking when it's hot?
That's funny 🤣

I actually have the issue on my 99 park avenue, prob would be on myaurora if I could DRIVE IT, but the tsb doesn’t explain it well enough. It specifically is more like a single loud or a few loud ones you almost exclusively hear after a mild or long high speed drive while braking, almost at a stop. I thought I had some broken components or some other problem but I would bet you this tsb would eliminate it. I’m not doing it because it’s unnecessary and my heat shield is bent to *******. So if I did do it I’d probably have the problem anyway from unaligned shields and hitting stuff LOL
But the cracks and pops are rather loud being where they come from and I’m guessing it’s because even tho they don’t ground as vibration through the floor, they resonate audibly harshly through the thin floor and some carpet.
My best guess.
