My Aurora will not communicate through the DLC to my scan tool. Power and Ground were good going to the DLC connector. Next I am going to isolate the Serial Data line. Car will not start. This is a lot of work to do to isolate the Serial Data line going to all the modules to check for grounded out or shorted Serial Data lines. Has anyone out there had a problem of this type with the 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora.

What code scanner do you have? 1995 has the OBD2 connector but is OBD 1.5 and most scanners don’t work unless it is 1995 compatible.

Yes 1995 is still OBD1 (so obd1.5) so you'll need a compatible scan tool for that

Does anyone know if an OBD 1.5 scan tool is available anywhere? I’ve been checking estate and garage sales and swap meets, but no one seems to know if any exist anymore. Did these work on any 1995 GM car, or just certain ones? Thanks!

Google "OBD 1.5 scan tool".
