I suppose it's probably a bcm issue but the fuse for the interior lights was pulled when I got it. Now I know why. They won't shut off! I really like this car but I HATE the electrical gremlins they all seem to have.
Has anyone else experienced this particular problem?

It might be overhead console. Try to unplug it and see what happens. Honestly I had handful of auroras so is my friends non had those issues its mostly cuz prev owners did something or ignore something. Possible even so called Know it all Mechanics .

That happened in my 2001 4.0 years ago. I disconnected all the wiring in the overhead console. End of trouble. Some time later on, I reconnected everything except for the sunroof, which I never liked & never used. Again, no trouble. There might have something wrong in the sunroof circuitry.

I unhooked all the overhead plugs so just the door lights remained on. They stayed on no matter what I did until I pulled the fuse again. I'm beginning to hate the electrical gremlins on this car.

Is that from Alldata? I have a subscription to that now and was starting to check wiring layouts, fuses and things. I appreciate you taking the time to get those but it was cheap enough to sign up so I did.
I pulled all the fuses relating to lighting or interior/door modules with no luck. The lights still stay on unless I pull relay #51, the one that controls all interior courtesy lights. I swapped it with another one to make sure it wasn't stuck on. I also tried moving the wire bundles going through the door jambs in case there was a loose connection. I unhooked all of the overhead console connections and the door and rear lights were still on. It's too hot to do anymore today but I am looking at the wiring diagrams now to see where to go next.

yes they from all data. its so much easier to pin point with tech2 scanner . But it does sounds like maybe car thinks that one of the doors still unlocked but usually it will give you an error on the DIC but who knows. I did replace my door switch on my prev Aurora it was rear right door. Try to disconnect dimmer switch as well just in case.

LOL I would if I could. I can live without interior lights temporarily, if I don't find the problem right now I can wait until after I fix the transmission sensors and hopefully the oil leak. I do have an aftermarket scanner and just got it working right when I discovered the hole under the battery. It's supposed to cool down in a day or so so I will hook it up and see what it says.
