I just put the key in and turned the ignition: headlights turned on, dash lights turned on, radio... but starter did not engage -- it was completely silent. I turned the key off and tried again, still nothing, but this time I held it. After about 10 seconds she fired right up!
I turned her off, tried again. No starter action. Held key in ignition for 30 seconds, and still nothing. Turned key to off, waited a second, and tried again. Nope, nada...held for several seconds (little longer than 10, maybe 15?) and suddenly started engaged and she fired right up!
I turned her off again, and tried one more time -- fired right up!
Seems to me there's a loose wire or bad ground somewhere -- what do you think?
NOTE: Everything else electrical seems to fire right up -- dash lights, radio, headlights, etc. -- just no starter. No clicking or any attempt to start, either. But once it did make an attempt the engine started right up without hesitation or drama.
EDIT: 4 more trips have now been completed with ZERO issues starting the engine. W-T-F?

Its common issue with those starters on 3.5 or crank sensors both located next to each other under the front of the engine. . Its possible can be issue with security system but very small chance . But try another key and see if its the same. try to read codes as well.

I remember this, a couple Threads back I mentioned this issue exactly the same symptoms as yours. Try this 1st, In my case with AUROD X, it was the GROUND CABLE connected to the Chassis going to the ALTERNATOR. What took me so long to figure out was that the CABLE @ the ALTERNATOR END was Disconnected, but from my view it looked good with all that Gunk of Oil. Anyhow I Reinstalled the CABLE to the ALTERNATOR and the Car Fired right up, never again had that issue. Hope this helps...
