I replaced the rotor and pads on this side today (other side two weeks ago) and saw this when I was getting ready to remove the wheel.

I can't tell if it's just plating or not, it's pretty thick.

Fortunately the wheels aren't expensive where I found them so I may pick one up just in case. I can make sure the bead seals correctly while I'm at it since they seem to have that problem.

My car had chrome as well but due to chrome peeling and one rim was cracked all wheels were loosing air at random and disbalance during driving. So i just got alloy wheels instead and no issues now.

After replacing the drivers side rotor a couple of weeks ago some of the vibration between 65-75 was a lot better. After replacing the passenger side rotor yesterday most of it is gone now. I knew the rotors were a little warped, I could feel it in the brake pedal a bit. So now there is minor vibration between 65-75 but it comes and goes. It repeats that at that speed range. I know it could be tires out of balance, worn struts, etc. but the rhythm is what gets me. It's consistently repeating, smooth then vibration, smooth then vibration, each lasting around 4 seconds each.

My guess is the chrome on the wheel is splitting. The chrome on these wheels is very think and will cut you like a knife. I speak from experience on my Intrigue chrome wheels.
