Good morning everyone, Quick introduction, I am working on resurrecting my mother's 1997 Aurora (120k miles). She is the original owner. I believe it has the Autobahn package. One of the rear brake lines rusted out 7 or 8 years ago so it got pulled into the barn awaiting a repair that never came. Eager for any tips for the resurrection - right now I am doing the basics of pulling plugs and putting some MMO in each cylinder before I crank it over. I could probably just charge the battery and hit the ignition, but I am trying to be a little extra cautious. It is my understanding that the Aurora Northstar is an interference engine, so I am a little concerned a valve could decide to be stuck open an result in some carnage... Any tips on the easiest way to turn the engine over by hand would be appreciated. There does not appear to be a ton of room to fit a ratchet over the harmonic balancer bolt! Thanks! Andrew

Good idea of putting lubricant into each cylinder before cranking. I did that some years ago on cars (not comparable to an Aurora....1976 Olds Omega 350 & a 1996 Mazda 2.0) that hadn't been started at all for at least 2 years. To verify that that 1997 is an Autobahn, look for the code QQX on the build sticker....somewhere in the trunk. And the tire sticker on the driver's side door frame should specify V rated tires.
