My 2001 4.0 was stalling at every stop. I know bad CKPS when I see them. Sure enough, DTC 340. I had to have a pro do the job, though. But when thsy put in the new CKPS and went to start it, the starter motor failed!!!! They took care of that quickly. I am very lucky that the starter failed when it did, otherwise I would have had to have it towed or flatbedded to the shop......and I don't have the energy to get the intake manifold off & back on!!

Strange that starter died so soon. I only changed starter once on one aurora at 170k miles. rest never died even after 200k. but thats for v8s. V6 starters die early i guess of its location .
