The black trim is peeling a bit, around the top of my sunroof glass. I really don't want to have to remove the whole assembly, mask it out, and spray paint... anyone else experienced this and found something suitable to "touch up" that area?

Is it a part of the window seal or the trim around the opening?...its a rubber gasket like material isnt it?
Do you have a pic..may be an easy maintenance thing to fix.

I think this is the trim around the opening... the surface is silver underneath the peeling (actually "flaking" is probably a better way to describe it). I'll post a picture in the morning and hopefully that will explain better. *EDIT: here's the photo of what I'm talking about... it is the inner trim piece, not the rubber seal.

I would maybe tape the window and paint it down, no one is gunna notice any touch up since its on the roof.
Its better then I had anticipated.

Just be careful whatever you do. You might try to get some kind of overspray protection on the paint and glass first to make removal of any mistakes easier. If you can't find anything like that, use wax or something and have paint thinner on standby to remove mistakes right away. And don't do it with the sunroof open unless you put som e sheets or something over the interior first! The last thing we want to read is a post saying "how do I remove black paint from leather?"
If you do use touch-up, try to flake off as much paint as you can so you don't have to do this again in a few months when more chips come off. At least it's up on the roof where it will not be very noticeable.
I think touch-up would work ok, and if not, it's not a big expenditure if you end up getting a new trim piece or sprayig the existing one anyway. I'd definitely try touch-up first.

Thanks fellas, sounds good since I think I might even have a bottle of black touch-up sitting around the garage somewhere. I'll give it a try soon and post an image of the result!

You should paint it gold to match the badging!

Hehe, actually my badging is silver/chrome! I had thought about the trim piece being silver, but ALL the black paint would have to be removed... and I'm not sure how that would look anyway. I'd rather have than !!

My bad, all the green Aurora's I've seen have the gold badge for some reason! In any case, you'll probably have to take all the paint of anyway. If it started flaking off, you can expect the rest wil do the same eventually. Might as well fix it all at once instead of it bothering you forever.

Yeah, good point. I'll try to get all the paint off first, and see how that looks before repainting.

The same thing was happening to me, so I took my Aurora to the dealer, and they replaced the whole thing including the glass window since it was not working properly under my WARRANTY, but now it's strating to peel again, the window is still working fine.

I didn't notice before, but the metal strip doesn't look primed! Time to strip, sand, prime, and paint that baby!
