im still trying to find someone who knows where the location of the BANK1 RIGHT oxygen sensor is location on a 95 aurora. Ive changed oxygen sensors on my explorer that i used to have but it was simple having only one oxygen sensor and it was easy to find. I have a 98 so I don't know if it's the same or not. I can't find a picture of the location either, but the removal instructions say to support rear of powertrain frame, remove 4 rear frame bolts, lower the frame by 3 inches, and disconnect and remove the rear oxygen sensor from the rear exhaust manifold. That's for Bank 1 Sensor 1, it doesn't say anything about left or right. I hope this helps.

Hey, not trying to be too sarcastic, but the O2 sensor is in the exhaust pipe. So it really can't be that hard to find. The exhaust header starts at the cylinder head and goes back towards the catalyst. Just follow the pipe until you see some round thing sticking out of it with a wire attached. There is one for each side, so it'll be before it Y's together at the catalyst.

ok, i've read several posts/articles stating this car has "4" oxygen sensors on it, so wouldn't it have "2" per side? And I did follow the exhaust from the back toward the engine, no oxygen sensors found. IM thinking they are right up in the engine area. If thats true, are they hard to get to and change?

Oxygen sensor locations on my 1996 rear exhaust manifold passenger side = bank 1 sensor 1, right between rear exhaust manifold and cat =bank 1 sensor 2, rear just after cat = bank 1 sensor 3, rear front exhaust manifold in the center =bank 2 sensor 1, front L47 Please read tedhontz Reply #10 on: 08/03/2004 at 19:24:22

ok, i went back to the garage and followed exhaust from back toward engine and NO oxygen sensor to be SEEN. Now, i did some investigative work and found out while the 1996, 1997 and up auroras do have 4 oxygen sensors, two before the cat and two after, the 1995 aurora like mine, however, does NOT have 4 oxygen sensors. It only has 2 which are located BEFORE the cat right up in the engine area which can hardly be seen! So, does anyone know how to change the 1995 oxygen sensors or does anyone have a book that says how?

Question for the smart people.............
How does one know when the oxygen sensors go bad? Will the SES light come (necessarily) on or is it just a guesstimate of time?

A bad O2 sensor could set off an SES light, but a better gage is: 1. Terrible gas mileage 2. Sulphur Oxide smell (rotten eggs) 3. Rich exhaust (lotsa black soot in the exhaust tips) Ted, as for changing it, I cant say for sure, a manual or experience in this assignment would help.

ok, a little info to post on this so far. the cover that covers the radiator with all the info stickers on it must be removed. Then, look down to see access to ONE of the o2 sensors. Im guessing that OFF go the coil packs this weekend for the back 4 plugs change and im HOPING that will give me access to the other o2 sensor. I will keep all posted, but PLEASE, ANYONE let me know if there is another way!!!!
