Anyone had this problem?
Opened my sunroof the other day and heard a crunching sound. I stopped closed it and then tried to reopen it only to hear more crunching. I finished opening all the way and found the black plastic wind damper snapped off at both connection points. It appeared that the front drivers side was resting low so I adjusted the height. Before I install a new damper I was looking for some advice. Thanks

Same thing happened to me, I didn't bother replacing it, just purchased one of the black plastic one's that mount on the roof, got it at Auto zone for $35. works just as well and looks nice on the car too! Just make sure that you mount it a little further forward than you would think or it blocks too much sky.

O.K. 60 looks and nothing but put an aftermarket part on the top of my car===personally I want to fix this problem. Does anyone have a suggestion in where I can take it to get it looked at beside the dealership? It opens and closes fine without this plastic damper installed. When I close it, it binds about halfway closed and then crack. Any help?

If you have driven without this damper the wind noise is horrible and it causes the headliner to bounce around uncontrollably---so living without it is not an option either....

If you don't want to replace it with GM parts or at the dealer, try an ASC shop.

www.car-part.com is a nationwide junkyard parts database... I'm not sure if their online search will get that specific or not, but it's worth a shot!

I have this part and it is ready to install but if I put it on without making adjustments than it will just be crunched again. I was trying to get input on adjustments that can be made to keep this from happening again. The sunroof sits flush with roof when closed so it is not sagging! Any help appreciated...
