[glow=red,2,300]Hows it going I have a 2001 olds aurora. first let me tell you a short story, only because I want to see if it could have damaged something. well 1 day after purchasing my olds a guy running from the cops rams my drivers side front end, mostly body damage. replaced the radiator. As for the problems i have small oil leak that seems to center itself around the oil pan. second i noticed one day after driving my car pretty hard my engine was making a knocking sound, then when i accelerated from a stop it started off fine but then it lost power, i even floored it and no response. what can it be??? i plan on doing the following replacing the fuel filter, oil change, tune up and trans fluid change. i drove my car today and it ran fine no engine knock or loss of power it only seems to occur periodically[/glow] [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

Could be bad gas or bad sensors if it is intermittent. Fill up with 91 Octane and see how it runs. Go get the car scanned and see if it is throwing any codes. As for the oil leak, check your oil filter to see if it is on tight and check the oil pan bolts, one or two could be a bit loose. Start with this stuff and see what happens.

i always fill with 91 so im guessing something else, as for the oil leak i have a leaky valve cover and oils leaking from something in the front like a oil sending unit or sensor. no codes either

If this happened since the accident, perhaps it is a result of the collision. I would think you could would have some recourse with the collision repair people or the insurance company. Yeah, they might have repaired the body of the car but if it is no longer drivable...
If it were me, that's where I would start.

Regarding the oil leak, is it possible that it is transmission fluid? My 4.0 had a leaky lower trans cooler line leak at the quick connect fitting at the transmission. It is situated such that it would run down the front of the transmission and down the length of the transmission pan. Ahh, you said oil pan. Nevermind. Anyway for reference you might check this out. aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=V8&action=display&thread=1131815031

The insurance will not coever it, its leaking from the vavle covers and oil pressure unit or something. its all considered wear and tear
