I'm sick of seeing the original 2002 carpeted floor mats take a beating this winter. Slush, salt, cinders, mud. Hard to keep them clean.
Thinking about getting rubber mats for everday use and putting away the originals for use during better weather.
Do you have a rubber mat brand you would care to recommend? Would like to find some that look halfway respectable.

I would say CAR & DRIVER seems to have decent rubber mats, you can find them at Target.

The previous owner of my car put clear plastic mats over the factory ones. Not the prettiest thing in the world, but it protects the factory mats from winter slush and the carpet color still shows through. It's kinda funny that we buy aftermarket mats to protect the factory mats that protect the floor carpet.

I use old Volkswagen mats in my car to protect the carpet...lol, the beige mats are waiting quietly in my trunk.
The guys at my dealership bust my chops all the time when they see the VW mats in there... ;D

My mats are somewhere in my basement, I just run around with some rubber ones.
come to think of it, I used the rubber ones more often.
Don't really want to dirty the Aurora ones.

You think your original 2002s are bad...you havent seen mine yet. Mine are original 1995 they are SO BEAT. If i try to vacuum them, strings come off and threads tear, thats how bad they are. I gotta get new ones. I was thinking about getting these off ebay from a wrecked Aurora, as I like ones with either the Aurora logo or the AURORA script on them...Anyone have any spares they will be willing to sell me>? I dont think they would look good though...my originals are tan Hmm

Are those mats with the AURORA[/b] text for the rear seats, cause on the Classic they look a bit longer.

They must be for the front of a 2nd Generation Aurora, cause I dont' think those would look decent on a Classic.
I'm sure they changed them a bit from a Classic to a 2nd Gen.

They are still available through GM Dealers in this color, and in tan, which would match your interior and mine as well. I have ordered them for the front and rear of my 98 Aurora - too much mud will be around here in NE PA in the next few weeks! I don't want to trash my nice carpet OEM mats! To boot, these look really neat with the AURORA on them - not as classy as carpet, but, will hold the mud and water better and clean up much easier!
