Hello all!
I need your help. I just spent a 1000 dollars on a new battery and Alt. Well a month later the votage regulator on the alt went out. So i had it replaced under warrinty. A few days later, the regulator on the alt went out again!!!....Well the dealer told me that i needed to replace my + battery cable, because there was a short in the system. Well it looks brand new, so i thought he was full of crap. (which he was...kinda) Today i found my power windows don't work anymore. You can hear the fuse for the Power windows working on its own, and im not touching the switch. So i think i found the short.
But I am not sure as how to get the door panel off without busting the door panel. Some images and some instructions would help out alot. I need to fix this, my window is stuck down, plus it will fix my Alt problem as well.

Couldn't find it if there was one.
Couldn't be simpler though, 2 socket screws at the bottom of the panel, feel with your hand. Then remove the screw cap behind the door handle, use a small flat head and gently pry the top of it out. Unscrew the rather large screw, (Phillips). Then wiggle out the panel piece and slide it out through the handle. The panel is now unscrewed, but there clips on the back that will hold it in place. Lift up on the grab handle and pull it up a bit. Set it back down on the bottom clips to rest the panel at an angle so you can unclip all the wire connections if you need/wanted to.
It may be stuck on. While pulling up on the grab handle, whack the bottom of the panel upward with your free hand.
Any more help, lemme know!
EDIT: There will be a couple clear baggy things that the clips on the panel go on into the door to prevent squeaks. Try and grab they quickly as a breeze will carry them away. Good way to see if the panel on your car was ever removed as most people would over-look them.

well considering i could not find a manual, I figured out how to do it myself, and I even thought of you guys, so i took step by step images. I had to remove both front and back drivers side door panels. I have a short in the system somewhere, I keep going through alternators. i am on my 3rd but i can not seam to find the problem....I thought it was my door switch, but i am not sure.....I looked under the hood, and it looks like my plug wires are arking against the rocker cover.....Not sure if that would cause the Altenator to take a dump on me............

Your plug wires are leaving "Tracking" marks from voltage leaks, but that would not adversely affect the Generator. Sounds like they need replacement though. :-)
