I've never seen that before...just make sure if you get it that the wood matches up to the trim thats already in your car, because if it doesnt it may look pretty funny

I ordered one of those kits from Exotic Woods last January. I think it's really cool. The wood is not an exact match as far as "Grain" is concerned. Wood grain patterns are like human fingerprints. If it's not from the same tree it won't match, but Exotic Wood Dash has the same tint of stain on the walnut (and it is real walnut just like our cars have) so the match is close. The average Joe wouldn't know the difference. It's not perfect for the center stack because it sits a little higher (1/4 of an inch higher than the factory wood trim when applied over the black trim (around the HVAC/Stereo controls)), but I think it looks nice after it is all on. You can select and use what you want to use from the kit or apply it all. It's cut very precisely. Personally I really like the trim around the door handles and the vent pieces. All in all worth the $350.00. It makes the interiour look warmer and richer. It all depends on your preference.

If you know of any other way by all means please advise. Otherwise, email w/attatchment is the only other option.

Wow! My car is on the forum.... ;D LOL. All jokes aside, I really like most of the pieces. Oldsmobile cut quite a few bucks by not adding more wood trim to Aurora's interior. The vent and door handle pieces really give it that extra touch of class and should have been included from the factory. There is even 3 pieces to accent the cup holder and that is tasteful as well. The center stack had to grow on me, but now I am accustomed to it. Hope the pics are clear enough. Thanks again Scotty.

I think I'd pick and choose which pieces I would use if I did this. I like the trim around the door handles, and cup holder possibly. I think that'd be all I would use though. You don't want too much wood trim. (like around every vent, etc.) It does look nice, but you don't want to overdo it. I'm undecided at this point.

yeah they didnt overdo the (real) walnut on the classics. I say "real" because a lot of american cars of that era used 100% fake accents like taht. I like the wood all around the shifter the most and on the doors, but that is enough. they did it just right with both the cars. Although i think the 2nd gen could use a little more stock. I cant remember what it looked like in the 2nd gen, I think there was a little less than the classic if i can remember right. All in all though, whatever floats yer boat.

I like the stock 2nd gen wood. It was enough not to be cheap, but not so much to be overwhelming. The classic was nice too, and they added the one extra piece that would make the classic even better, a wood border up around the center console.
No offense, and to each their own, but whenever I see those wood kit picts, it makes me quite glad Olds was conservative with the wood application.

hmm....I think I'd have to see it in person, because from the pics, I agree with Aurora40 on the fact that Oldsmobile did a good job being conservative with the wood from the factory.

The choice is yours to make. It is a total personal preference. I chose to spend the $350.00 and used what I wanted from the wood kit. The match was pretty close and the quality of the wood was nice. I wanted to customize my Aurora to my liking. It puts the icing on the interior and with the 18 inch chrome wheels I bought for the summer I honestly love the look inside and out. My Aurora is unique and I won't see myself coming or going. Like I said before...The choice is yours if you decide to buy it. Enjoy.

I also like the idea of adding the trim around the door handles and air vents only. My big concern would be having the pieces match the existing trim. Thanks for posting the pics--Any chance of getting hi-res photos?
If you had a Final 500, would you mod it or leave it stock?

Too much is overkill. Keep it tastefull with a few wood accents. I like the trim piece but not the entire kit....way too much.
