Initially a very simple question isn't it? I know Windex does the job but I don't want to dry out the dash on my new ride. Armorall just shines up the dash and is not a cleaner. I need a good product to keep the dash clean, not just shiny. Suggestions?

pinnacle makes a nice dash conditioner that makes the dash nice and soft, and it's orange scented. try www.pinnacle-wax.com. Turtle Wax also makes a product that I really like to use on my dashboard, and it's a new-car smell.

As far as an actual product, I'd suggest a California Car Duster or similar device (?) to clean it. They really get into the crevices good where all that dust and junk accumulates over time. Works well around your steering column and front dash/bezel areas too, where there are lots of knobs and levers that can get in the way for standard hand cleaning.

I use a swiffer duster to clean the dash (especially handy for cigarette ashes) and Turtlewax F-21 to protect it. The F-21 does have an odd smell, so it may be what Dan is talking about too (although I never equated it to the new-car smell).

I use a Meguirs product, Gold Class Vinyl cleaner/protector. Seems to work great and has a great smell.

Meguirs Quik Interior Detailer..... I would second this if you want something really easy, matte, and safe for basically everything. I don't know if it puts down as much protection as some other treatments, but it is great for what it is.
