After my wife's new 9k mi 2002 ate two window regulators in a week, and the service guy at the dealer gave me his opinion on the design flaw in these regs, I got to thinking I should find some broken regulators and try to redesign the problem area.
Anyone got one? All I want is broken ones....
I couldn't keep mine 'cuz they were replaced under warranty and the dealer had to keep them....
thanks kevin

Try a junk yard (Probably the best place to find one).

The U-pull-it's here don't have cars newer than 97, and the junkyards that pull the parts for you aren't going to make me much of a deal on a broken reg, I don't think. On a car like an Aurora they probably won't pull any parts out of a good door anyway. They want to sell it whole....
Hopefully next time someone replaces one they'll think of me....

charlie, the regulator on my brother's 2000 Bonneville Just broke also. It was his left rear window. THe window was up, he heard a cracking noise, then the window fell into the door. The issue is the regulator's cable slides across a peice of plastic which is too brittle to support the weight of the window and the cable eventually breaks through the plastic cuasing the window to fall and not roll back up. There are revised regulators on Ebay for $200 that are GM regulators that are fixed to not have this happen again. The Bonne and Aurora use the same regulators BTW.
