You got that right Steven. Thats a $500 job doing it yourself and it most likely will need to be done before you drive it too far.

In addition a 95 with 105 is not worth 5 grand. $3500 would be tops.

I'd give $2500 w/o the new compressor, or offer $3200 for it w/ the compressor fixed. $5000 is absurdly high! Sometimes owner-sellers are as bad as used car lots...

You guys talk a good line of bs. on a lot here 7 to 8 k. 2500 is an insult. look around this board you will see some absurd prices. The car is worth every penny. if you don't like it fine but you don't need to bash it.

Hehe, mind your tempers children. Just for perspective, I paid $7600 for my '99 with 53k miles a little over a year ago. I looked up '95 Aurora in "Good" condition on the Kelley Blue Book website (using the zip code for Columbus, OH), and the Private Party Value is shown as $2985. May not be what you want to hear, but that's reality.

Perhaps you should peddle your wares elsewhere. May I suggest a place where people are more easily taken advantage of, if you really mean what I've quoted you as saying above?

By the way, "Good" condition in Kelley Blue Book terms most certainly doesn't provide for immediate $500 air conditioning system repairs...

Gents, this is not an offtopic forum. Please refrain from any of the discussion and commentary just for the sake of posting.
If $5000 is the asking price so be it. If you are not interested in the vehicle, and if you don't agree with the asking price thats fine we dont need a pissing match about why so and so is asking X price.
Leave it as serious inquiries only.

Fair enough, however based on the thread topic, arguing about a price and bartering/ negotiating prices are two different things. I see the former not the latter.
Understand my position, and let the seller try to sell his vehicle.

Understand my position, and let the seller try to sell his vehicle. I don't think that's too harsh an agreement. I can/have always understood the former, and I'll have to live with the latter. Perhaps I just had the board's best interest at heart, as this should be a place of knowledge (and knowledgeable people), and someone knowingly using it as a front for a scam, and I'd consider drastic overpricing in that neighborhood, could seriously damage our credibility. I don't want anyone getting scammed, and most especially not on here. I guess it's a little of that Liberal, public-before-self stuff coming through...

I only paid 4750 for my 95 with 77k. And my AC compressor was rebuilt before i got the car. It is an absurd price, just mark it down a grand.

Did you guys miss what Jim just said? If you aren't interested in the car, and don't have relevant information about that particular car, don't post in the thread about it being for sale. The seller did not ask for feedback on his price, nor has a potential buyer asked for an opinion about the cost.

It should be noted that most every member of this forum takes pathetically exceptional care of their Auroras. With the exception of the AC, I'm sure that skeeter's '95 with ONLY 105k is in pristine condition. Would we expect skeeter to post "A must see"? Please; as a member of the ACNA forum it is a given that the car is nearly flawless.
Would anyone here who had a 95 with only 105k ask for less than what skeeter is asking. If it were yours, would you even want to part with the car at all?
There is a lot to be said for sentimental value. We care for and about our cars a great deal and probably know more about them than any other car owner. If we needed to sell, for whatever reason, we would hope the car would find as dedicated an owner.
The original post did say - Or Best Offer and as members of this forum, we should be helping skeeter sell this car by asking pertinent questions.
Maybe it's been garaged, the paint and interior is perfect, newer tires, chromes, all options, no leaks, full maintenance records with regular 3000 mi oil changes and 30,000 mi trans fluid changes. Maybe the fuel pump and multifunction switch have already been replaced just as the radiator has. Fuel rail, MAF, Coils, EGR, FPR, console wiring, water pump, rear shocks, wheel bearings, etc. The list goes on of the possibilities and if most of those things have already been done then doesn't it make you think again about the asking price?
I would by an Aurora from anyone in this forum and I wouldn't mind paying a little more knowing how well it had been cared for...

That all may be. And i did not notice Jim or Bob's posts before, as they sigs showed up as blanks, but you forgot one thing. The transmission could be on its way out. A 1995 with that kind of miles doesnt have too long before the defective plastic filter case pushes the 1-2 shift solenoids onto the bottom of the pan.

{EDIT my above post} Maybe the transmission fuel pump and multifunction switch have already been replaced just as the radiator has.

Thanks Jimw,Aurora40 and tjm for putting the record straight. I didn't expect the razzing from an owners board such as this.
