Wow, looks great! That color on the climate is weird. It seems off a bit, but the knobs match. Not a big deal, though. Maybe the camera exagurates it?

"Limited Edition" !!! Hasn't the current owner ever heard the phrase "Final 500"?

The front bumper is messed up, too. The black undertray is all buckled and bent up. Nasty. Someone didn't really care about this car, I feel.

Did anyone notice that the leather on the doors is rippling?

Did anyone notice that the leather on the doors is rippling? That's what the doors look like. It's intentional. I think the ripple gives it a nicer look, a look of real material. If it were taut, it would just look like any other door covering. It's not real leather, though.

When I received my car from the dealer last October, it was doing the same thing... I asked them twice to repair it (in with other repairs while car was in the shop for other things), but they forgot to both times. Then one day it came off, all except one snap-in thingy, so I ripped it off and it's been in my basement ever since. Really, really, shoddy engineering, cheap materials, bad manufacturing. I've always hated that about my Aurora.... then whenever I think these things I always remember that the only other cars I can compare it to are $20-$40k more

It's held on quite securely with about 20 snap-pin things. But if you don't put them all back, or don't line it up properly before pinning it down, it will fit and look like crap.

That car got up to $15,000. I wonder what the reserve was? If you want top-dollar, eBay sight-unseen is not generally the way to get it...

I called the dealer and the salesman, if you can believe him, said the dealer had two Final 500s. One was sold to an employee and this was the other.

For there being only 500 in all of America (probably far less now, being a few throughout the world and crashed, etc), I've seen the 500's sold way more times than it seems to make any sense...

Oddly, so have I. I've seen about 5 different Final 500 Aleros, several Final Intrigues, and probably 10 Final Auroras in various real places and on the internet. They do seem to get sold quite often, and the premium in selling price over a non-Final version from the same year isn't really that great.

Isn't that Final 500 for each model?

Isn't that Final 500 for each model? They made Final 500 versions of each model, but I've never seen a Final Bravada or Silhouette. I doubt many people collect mediocre SUVs and minivans, even if they are 1/500. Those'll be the rare ones, in my opinion. Possibly the Alero, since it was considered an economy car (despite the Final version having leather, moonroof, XM Radio, power seats, AM/FM/CD/Cassette, dark-sensing headlights, etc.). Who knows...

Hey, good point about the Bravada and Silhouette. It would be great to get an Aurora Final 500 and store it, but most of us don't have that kind of money laying around.
