First thing that has to go is the dealer plate on the trunk!

That's the first thing I did. Took a hair dryer to soften the adhesive and slowly worked the placard off.

Fairly well equipped, but no sunroof or traction/stability control. I actually don't like that color very much.

Well equipped? The only option I see is heated seats and passenger comfort package, or whatever that one is. Though the exhaust pipes have been polished

It also has the convenience package, notice the memory seats.

Right, but those two options (passenger and convenience), are pretty basic, I mean VERY few Auroras don't have them.

Right, but those two options (passenger and convenience), are pretty basic, I mean VERY few Auroras don't have them. That's two of three packages. I'd consider that reasonably well equipped. And there are LOTS of 3.5's that don't have them. Many of the 3.5's were fleet cars, and they are total strippers. It's kind of hard to find 3.5's that are fully loaded, at least it was when I was looking around. I suspect because the options add several thousand to the sticker, but then the difference between a loaded 3.5 and a 4.0 is less than two grand. So if you've loaded it up that much, why not make the next jump?

Nail on the head bob. Thats how i convinced my mom to get the 5.3 saab over the 4.2. About 2 grand difference. I cant imagine insurance being that much different either (at least for the age bracket the car was targeted towards). Fuel mileage between a 6 and 8 isnt really that different..on the highway.

I like the color, though I like rare Aurora colors in the first place (just not blue and green interiors yuk!). I believe someone posted another 01' 4.0 in that color a while back that was in Ft. Lauderdale.

I'm pretty fond of that color too... unique all the way around, as I don't think I've seen any car recently with a deep brown color like that. Looks like the auction ended at $6700 without meeting the reserve, so it might still be up for grabs!
