You might be able to get by with that engine on the highway, but no way in the world around town in traffic!!! __________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

I dont even think it will fit right in there. Plus, theres about $10k in electronics too.
Marc why did u say not around town? Not enough torque i suppose right?

Not enough low end torque is one reason. Another reason is that engine most likely has camshafts whose lift and duration are optimized for very high rpm performance - remember that that engine is going to be turning well over 10,000 rpm on the track, and for that you have to have valve lift and duration that would make it almost impossible for it to idle at normal idle speeds or to drive at low mph in traffic. _____________________ GM!!! if i got that in my car, i would just need to make it rear wheel drive, no way could i stand having that much power in a front wheel drive.

I think that is a luggage bag sitting on the top? I would love to have it if I could find a front wheel drive tranny that could stand up to it.

1) No.
2) It wouldn't fit
3) They run on methanol
4) No
5) It spins at 10,000 rpm, the 4T80-E can only take 6,500 rpm
6) It wouldn't have any low-end torque
7) No

Did the 97 IRL Pace Car Aurora have a stock 4.0?

Did the 97 IRL Pace Car Aurora have a stock 4.0? As far as I know, yes. It may have had some minor work done, though. I believe pace cars need to be able to run at 150mph. I know a little more about the 2000 Pace Car. It had a Corsa exhaust, it certainly had some PCM changes, and it had Z-rated Goodyear RS-A's. It sure would have been a cool car to buy at auction.

yeah, i concur about not being able to put that in an aurora, it would be unliveable, unreliable, and a headache to get gas for. and thats not even saying that theres no FWD tranny that could handle it. there would have to be major mods and it couldnt be a street car. hmmmm, i should pull my rotary out of my AE86 and put in that aurora engine, hmmmmm
