Sounds good Bruce. If I can make some predictions. I think the 2nd gen has a greater advantage over a car like mine. Even with my modifications, the 2nd Gen 4.0 feels lighter and quicker off the line, not to mention the factory improvements to the 4.0 engine. Either way, it'll be good to see what happens. OOOOO making excuses already! Bruce, don't let us 2nd gen guys down! What's your address so I can ship you my Corsa and airbox wrap? if you want, you can send that corsa exhaust and airbox my way. I just want to use it for scientific experiments.. I promise I'll return it. ;D

No need for excuse here my friend, I know the 2nd Gen is lighter, faster and better engineered. I just hope the work I have done on my car helps. We'll see...don't worry Classic lovers, I wont letcha down

Mushroom yours will prolly be a lot faster than last time with your new tranny. You should get some nice dynomax mufflers though...that should help a bit.

Hopefully. I remember my 60 foot times being either 2.5 or 2.9 which is pretty bad. And the biggest difference is the new punch of line.
I might take the opportunity to test the Toronado as well, if anywhere here has 'em.

My wife and I were traveling back from Dayton the other day, both in our own Auroras, mine being the 97 and hers the 01 V6. We stopped at a light, side by side, and she wanted to race, believe it or not. I told her ok, but we back off at 50 mph. The V6 beat my 97 by about 2 feet, but I would have gotten her in the long run. The V6's in these cars are no slouch, especially off the line. Mine was really starting to pull about 3500 rpm's, but there wasnt enough time to catch her. Any thoughts?

Shrooms did you say "Tornado" or the Olds Toronado?
Also roralover, yeah the 3.5 is no dog as i once thought it was. The six makes a lot of low-end, but Im pretty sure the 4.0 classic smokes them in the long run, especially the autobahn.

I might get a video tomorrow night to show the topend of the V6 Aurora. Maybe not.. Depends on how tired I am and if I feel like pushing my car.

Theres the cure Steven. Get that Transmission replaced with the Autobahn, it will be smooth sailing from there on out!

he'd also need the PCM from the donor car or else the speedometer would work incorrectly and he'd still be goverened. also, the shift points would be way messed up.

Wow, that stuff is all integreted very precisely. I was just think of how "amazing" it was to us when the on-board computers were first introduced on cars, the GM "Computer Command Control."
